Obituary

Barbara Gail Rogers passed away on Oct. 25, 2014, in Halstead, Kansas.

Barbara was born March 18, 1952, in Emporia, Kansas to Ralph Rogers and Clara (Jones) Rogers. She grew up in Lebo, Kansas, and attended Lebo Public School, graduating salutatorian of her class. She graduated from Colby Community College.  Barbara worked as an equipment operator with the State of Kansas Highway Department and lived in Newton.  She always had a special place in her heart for animals, her dogs and her parrot. Her smiling face will be missed by family and friends. She had a very giving spirit.

She is survived by her sister, Eunice Kuhlmann-Grieder (Clint Grieder) of Emporia; sister-in-law, Frances Rogers of McPherson; two nieces, Ranada January (Leon) of Little River and Kimberly Kuhlmann of Lawrence; two nephews, Brian Rogers (Theresa) of Wichita, and Todd A. Kuhlmann (Lori) of Georgetown, Texas; and four great-nieces and nephews.  Proceeding her in death were her parents and her brother, Robert R. Rogers.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 31, 2014, following visitation from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Petersen Family Funeral Home, Newton, with Father Edmund Kline presiding. Burial will take place at the Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Lebo, at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2014.
