Obituary

Sandra Sue Schwabauer passed on November 4, 2014.

She was born to John and Grace Truesdell on March 23, 1941, in Mendon, Missouri.

Sandra and Bill met through mutual friends and were married on Jan. 19, 1979. Sandra worked for Graber's Hardware Store in Newton, Kansas for 37 years as a bookkeeper before retiring in 2012.  Sandra loved her family and cherished spending time with them, including her grandkids. She was an avid reader, pacing around a book a week!  Sandra loved animals; she enjoyed bird watching and feeding wild animals, and caring for her dogs.

She is survived by husband, William "Bill" Schwabauer; sons, Brandon Bacon and wife, Susan, Steve Bacon and wife, Crystal, and John Bacon and wife, Jessica; grandchildren, Shannon Kalal, Jaxon Bacon, John Truesdell (J.T.) Bacon, Sydney Bacon, Kyndal Bacon and Josie Bacon; great-grandchild, Bella Kalal; and sister, Mary Smith.  Sandra was preceeded in death by her parents and brother, Johnny Truesdell.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, at Petersen Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel.  Memorials may be made out to Caring Hands Humane Society.
