Marietta (Rogers) Vollbracht, 84, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, friend to many and former lead bridal consultant for Barriers Inc. A special thank you to the loving staff at Regent Park skilled nursing center that have taken gracious care of her for the last two years.
Marietta is survived by her daughter, Janie Carney (Frank) of Wichita; daughter-in-law, Chantal Vollbracht of Overland Park; brother, Eugene Rogers of Wichita; sister, Kay (Jeff) Sennett of Wichita; granddaughters, Megan (Nick) Metcalf of Wichita, Audrey Vollbracht (fiance, Andy Whitehead) of Overland Park, Helene Michele Vollbracht of Nashville, Tennessee; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Mylee Metcalf; grandchildren by marriage, Darin Carney of Portland, Oregon, Brian Carney of Hailey, Idaho, Peter Carney of Lake Forrest, California, Mara Bruce of St. Louis, Keir Carney of Laguna Niguel, California, Trevor Carney of Lakeway, Texas, Tressa Diebes of Hermosa Beach, California; 14 great-grandchildren by marriage; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Vollbracht; parents, Walter and Roberta Rogers; son, Mark Vollbracht; infant brother, Walter Kenith Rogers; and nephew, Doug Rogers.
Rosary will be at 5:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at St. Paul Parish, Newman Center, WSU Campus (corner of 17th and Roosevelt). Graveside Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Newton, Kansas.
