Margaret L. Dillman, 95, died Wednesday (March 4, 2009) at Holiday Resort in Emporia.
She was born Feb. 11, 1914, in Rosalia to William Edward and Roberta (Hayes) Thalman. She moved to Newton with her parents when she was 4 years old.
On June 11, 1933, she married Willard M. Dillman. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1990.
Margaret was a member of First Baptist Church in Newton. She was a lifetime Hesston and Newton resident, moving to Emporia in 1999 to be closer to her daughter.
She was a member of the Entre Nous Social Club in Newton.Margaret enjoyed crocheting, knitting and making afghans for her family. She greatly looked forward to spending time with her loving family and many friends.
Survivors include daughter, Jolene and Richard Spencer of Emporia; sister, Carolyn Blosser of Houston; grandson, Brett Spencer of Fort Smith, Ark.; grandson Clay Spencer of Flagstaff, Ariz.; granddaughter, Rochelle Barrett of Overland Park; grandson, Todd Fauchier of Colorado Springs, Colo.; granddaughter, Piper Truster of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; and 11 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice E. Fauchier; brother, Rhea Thalman; sisters, Wilma “Jeanne” Harris and Inez Onstott; infant sister; Phyllis Ann Thalman; father, William Edward Thalman; and mother, Roberta (Hayes) Thalman.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2009, at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to service time Monday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor Terry Tareila of First Baptist Church of Newton officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Gardens of Memory in Newton. Memorial contributions may be made to Hand in Hand Hospice or the Emporia Rescue Mission in care of the funeral home.
