John D. Gray, 86, farmer and stockman, died Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at his residence. He as born June 13, 1928 at Piedmont, Misouri to James Ernest and Macy May (Williams) Gray. He ws a member of Burrton Mennonite Church and was a Burrton area resident for over 60 years. He also served as church represenative and Board Member to the Mennonite Central Committee. He served his country in he U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Midway.
On October 22, 1950, he married Deloris Irene Unruh at Mt. Hope. She preceded him in death March 5, 2011.
Survivors: sons; John (Judy) Gray, Del City,k Oklahma; Terry "T.C." (Jaye) Gray, Honolulu, Hawaii; daughter, Jean Kirk, Springfield, Ill; brother, Richard (Eunice) Gray, Arnold, Missouri; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in deth by a son, Rodney Gray; brothers, Robert; Ernest :Bud"; Jaoy; Charles; Oscar and James; sisters, Thelma Elder; Lena May Gray and Shirley Ann Gray.
Funeral services were held at Burrton Mennonite Church with burial in the Burrton Cemetery.
