Everett Reed Matlack, 82, Chase, Kansas, formerly of Burrton died Friday July 7, 1995 at Lyons District Hospital in Lyons, Kansas. He was born October 3, 1912 at Burrton, Kansas, son of Karl and Nellie Carmichael Matlack. A Chase resident since 1945, moving from Burrton, he was retired from the Sohio Oil Co.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Lyons; Past master and 50 year member of Chase Masonic Lodge No. 247 and was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star Carnation Chapter No. 276, both at Chase.
In 1937 he married Chlodene Chain. She died in 1976. On February 11, 1977, he married Dorothy Lambel at Lyons. She survives.
Other survivors: two daughters, Jeanne Simmons, Sterling, Colorado and Mary Kopfman, Platteville, Colorado; stepson, Wade Lambel, Woodward, Oklahoma; step-dughter Sandrq Atteberry, Evanston, Wyoming ; two brothers, Neal Matlack, Burrton and Virgil Matlack, Denver; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a step-grreat grandchild.
Services were Tuesday, July at Sillin Funeral Home, Lyons. Burial was in Laurel Cemetery, Haven, Kansas.
