Madeline LaVonne Calloway, 93, went to be with our Lord on November 29, 2014 in Tyler, Texas.
LaVonne was born on November 26, 1921, to John and Bessie Lucas in Great Bend, Kansas. She graduated from Newton High School before attending Southwestern Bible Institute in Waxahachie, Texas, where she met and married Dalton Calloway. They lived in Newton from 1968 to 1986. LaVonne retired as bookkeeper from Prestressed Concrete Inc. in 1986. At that time, LaVonne and Dalton retired to Tyler, Texas. LaVonne loved spending time with family, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by three children: son, Larry (wife, Jana), Malibu, California, son, David, Tyler, Texas, and daughter, Lisa Obermeyer (husband, Wynn), Omaha, Nebraska. She is survived by Kristine Schill, granddaughter, Portland, Oregon. LaVonne is survived by 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Dalton, husband (2010), and son, Keith Joel.
A celebration of LaVonne's life will take place on December 2, 2014, in Tyler, Texas, officiated by Rev. Art Calloway, with music provided by Rev. Jesse Callaway.
