Robert "Bob" Keith Jacob, 85, Bentley, died Sunday January 11, 2015 at Diversicare ofSedgwick, where he had been a resident siince Thanksgiving Day. Bob was born in Wichita on March 4, 1929 toArthur Homer and Clarice Aleyne Bright Jacob. He was a resident of the Valley Center, Sedgwick and Bentley area most of his life.
He married Muriel Ann Vanley on March 13, 1950 at Valley Center. She died September 14, 2012.
Bob was engated in farming activities all his life. For many years the whole family did custom harvestinig and worked for several ranches iin Oklahoma and Texas. The highlight of his harvesting career were the years he would do custom work for King Ranch in soouthern Texas where he harvested and packed silage. In later years he made lavish bird houses and collected and restored anique farm toys, which were featured on a session of Hatteberg's People. Bob and his late wife, Muriel, were also instrumental in fund raisiing for and construction of the Bentley Senior Center.
Survivors: brothers, Don Jacob; Wayne Jacob an Larry Jacob, all of Sedgwick; son, Terry and Ruth Jacob, Sedgwick; daughter, Janice and Gary seiler, Valley Center; grandsons, Kyle Jacob and Aaron Wells; granddaughters, Melissa Wells and Stacie Jacob; and two great granddaughters, Leah and Annabelle. He was preceded in death by his wife, Muriel and great grandson, Logan Simmons.
Visitation will be at Baker Funeral with services at Bentley Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, rural Sedgwick.
