'Doc' Auernheimer, 92, cabinet maker

Harold Carl "Doc" Auernheimer, 92, died Aug. 18, 2007, at Hillsboro Rehabilitation Center, after a long illness.
No services will be held.
Mr. Auernheimer was born Sept. 23, 1914, a son of Albert and Mary Auernheimer, Burton, Kan.
He graduated from Halstead High School and worked on his father's farm for several years. He attended Garden Mennonite Church near Heston, Kan.
Mr. Auernheimer joined the U.S. Army where he worked for many years in foreign services. After this service ended he moved to California, and in 1976 he married Grayce V. Ballard.
He was a cabinet maker. After his retirement, he and his wife moved to Hillsboro. They had many good friends and neighbors and both he and his wife loved fishing. They spent many happy years RVing and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Grayce, in 2005, and by two brothers, Ralph and Wesley, and one sister, Mable Vogt.
Survivors include a brother, Edgar W. Aurenheimer, Kansas; a sister, Lucille Fowler, Missouri; and 17 nieces and nephews.
