Claribel Dirks, 82, homemaker, died on Tuesday (March 15, 2011) at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation in Halstead.
She was born on Nov. 21, 1928, in Canton to Henry H. and Rachel (Jantz) Wiggers.
A lifelong area resident, she was a member of Grace Church of God In Christ Mennonite Church in Halstead.
On Feb. 5, 1950, she married Wilbert C. Dirks in Halstead. He survives.
Other survivors include sons, Raymond (Charlene) Dirks of Leoti, and Franklin (Burnette) Dirks of Halstead; daughters, Margaret (John) Schmidt of Sedgwick, and Verna (Philip) Schroeder of Transylvania, La.; brother, Glenn Wiggers of Moundridge; sister, Elma Jean Yost of Detroit, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Wilferd Dirks; brothers, Arnold and Allen Wiggers; sisters, Gertrude Wedel, Priscilla Seiler, Bertha Buller and Marjorie Smith; and a great-granddaughter, Mikayla Dirks.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Grace Church of God In Christ Mennonite Church in Halstead. Ministers Kenneth Smith, Stanley Wiggers, Marlin Unruh and Dean Becker will officiate. Burial will follow at Halstead Cemetery in Halstead.
Memorials may be given to Hospice Care of Kansas in care of Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead.
