Obituary

Elliott Charles WM. "Chuck" 88, died on Monday, May 24, 2010. Born June 23, 1921 in Pueblo, Colorado to John and Olion Elliott. Graduate of the University of Kansas and received an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He served in World War II as a lieutenant in the Air Force. He joined the National Bank of Detroit in February, 1948. Upon his retirement from the bank as Senior Vice President he joined Stroh's Leasing located in Riverplace until his retirement in 1989. Following the death of his first wife Nancy Hewitt Elliott in 1989 he married Jean Davis Machamer on June 23, 1990. He was trustee at William Beaumont Hospital and was Chairman of the Southeastern Michigan chapter of the American Red Cross. Survived by his cherished wife Jean and daughters Sara (Gary) Phillips of Grosse Pointe Woods, Betsy Hornbeck of Overland Park, KS, Nancy (Gary) Badger of College Station, TX, Peggy (Brad) Heffelmire of Hudson, OH, Carolyn Machamer of Baltimore, MD, Joan (Jim Dillon) Machamer of Seattle, WA and Laura "Lolly" (Hutton) Easley of Memphis, TN. Also survived by his sister Margaret Podlich of Tempe, AZ. Beloved grandfather of nine and great-grandfather of eight. A memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 28, 2010 at the Grosse Pointe United Methodist Church, 211 Moross Road, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI. Memorial donations may be made to the Southeastern Chapter of the American Red Cross or the Grosse Pointe United Methodist Church.
