Newton - Janice Ailene (Wagner) Hiebert
died Wednesday (April 29, 2015) at her farm in rural Harvey County.
She was born on July 10, 1942 to Lorene (Williams) and Lester G.
Wagner in Newton, KS.
Janice attended church at the Salem
United Methodist Church in Newton. She had a very caring nature, and
this inspired her to lead Grief Support Groups for women. She also
had a knack for sending encouraging notes to friends or family, and
they always said just the right thing.
Janice was always busy and had many
hobbies. One of them was watching the WSU Basketball games. For most
of her childhood, she was raised on the family farm by Aunt Alice and
Uncle Wayne Wagner on the Wagner farm. After her marriage to Marlin,
they owned and operated the J & M service station in Hesston,
where she had retired from as the bookkeeper for many years.
Survivors include her son and
daughter-in-law, Michael and Carol Hiebert, Newton and a daughter,
Julie and Phil Nowak, Stillwater, OK; two sisters, Barbara Reimer and
Elaine Kasitz; two grandchildren, Kelsey Nowak and Austin Hiebert.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her spouse Marlin
Hiebert.
Visitation will be on Sunday, May 3,
2015 from 2:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M., with the family greeting from 6:30 PM-
8:30 PM. Inurnment will be on Monday, May 4, 9: 30 A.M. at the Walton
Cemetery. Memorial will follow on Monday, May 4th at 10:30 A.M. at
the Salem United Methodist Church in Newton. Memorials may be made to
the Salem United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or the Walton Rural
Life School, in care of the funeral home at 120 E Broadway, Newton,
KS 67114
