Obituary

Galen Kent Kirchmer, 65 of Loveland, Colorado, passed away on April 23, 2015. Galen was born October 13, 1949 in Newton, Kansas to Marion and Lois (Hall) Kirchmer.

He received his Master's Degree from Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas in 1973. Galen moved to Fort Collins in 1979 and worked at the Larico Youth Homes. He also worked as a Probation Officer for Larimer County, Colorado for 27 years until his retirement in April 2014.

Galen is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Shelley Kirchmer, two sons, Jacob (Rebecca) Kirchmer of Silver Spring, Maryland and Joseph (Hanna Martinez) Kirchmer of St. Petersburg, Florida, one granddaughter, Clara, two siblings, Larry (Valerie) Kirchmer and Theresa (Don) Stucky as well as his uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
