Rozella E. (Rosie) Wiebe, 88, died
Wednesday May 6, 2015 at Newton Presbyterian Manor. She was born
September 6, 1926 on a farm near Goessel in rural Marion County,
Kansas to G.M. and Sara (Epp) Schmidt. She attended Steinbach School
and graduated from Goessel High School.
On January 25, 1946 she married Robert
B. Wiebe at First Mennonite Church in Newton, Kansas. He preceded her
in death on October 7, 2007.
Rosie was a charter member of Newton
Bible Church. She worked many years for Mennonite Weekly Review and
also as the manager of the Herald Bookstore. In her retirement, she
found much joy in working at the school library of Newton Bible
Christian School. Rosie enjoyed crocheting and sharing her creations
with her family.
She is survived by her son: Charles D.
(Marsha) Wiebe of Garden City, Kansas; and daughter: Judith (Tim)
Mace of North Newton, Kansas; 9 grandchildren and 19 great
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her
parents and her daughter: LeAnne Volle in May of 2011.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m.,
Monday, May 11, 2015 at Newton Bible Church with Pastor Matthew Kruse
presiding. Visitation with family will be 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior
to the service on Monday at the church. Burial will be in Restlawn
Gardens of Memory in rural Newton following the service.
