Obituary: Margaret E. Maine

KS_Newton -- Margaret E. Maine of
Longmont, Colo., died on Oct. 15, 2012, at the HospiceCare Center in
Louisville. She was 96 years old.
She was born on May 9, 1916, in Walton
to Edward C. and Zetta (Merrell) Molzen. She grew up in Newton,
graduating from Newton High School class of 1933.
Margaret married Russell M. Maine on
May 14, 1936, in Newton. They moved to Boulder, Colo., in 1950 from
Arkansas City, and then retired to Cedaredge, Colo., in 1971. She
moved to Longmont in 2005.
She was a member of the United
Methodist Church, fellowshipping at the Cedaredge Community UMC and
at Longs Peak UMC in Longmont.
Margaret was a loving homemaker,
mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is remembered as
always being involved in many activities, including Wii bowling at
Hover Manor. She enjoyed baking and canning, and she was an excellent
seamstress. Her grandchildren remember her as the queen of apple pie,
fried chicken and dill pickles.
She was preceded in death by her
husband; brother, Jack Molzen; and sister, Leona Kissire.
Margaret is survived by one son, Mike
Maine (Judy) of Longmont; one daughter, Nedra Eastom (Fred) of
Westminster, Colo.; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Clark, Lynne
Rossman, Jennifer Graves and Renee Creek; 11 great-grandchildren;
sister-in-law, Arlene Molzen; beloved special niece, Janice Reimer of
Hesston; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m.
Friday (Oct. 26, 2012) at the Longs Peak United Methodist Church.
Cremation will take place at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. A
second memorial service will take place in Cedaredge, Colo.
