Obituary
DODGE CITY - Charlene May Riedlinger,
77, died Friday, April 10, 2015, at Mercy Hospital, Oklahoma City.
She was born January 21, 1938, in
Newton, Kansas, the daughter of Charles and Minnie (Giersch) Hege.
She was a graduate of Newton High School. She worked as the Certified
Dietary Manager at the Spearville District Hospital and Minneola
District Hospital from where she retired. Charlene enjoyed all family
and entertaining with them. She was passionate about cooking,
painting, spoiling her grandsons and great grandbabies, Alli and
Jaxon Riedlinger.
Charlene is survived by her loving
husband of 55 years, John O. Riedlinger. They were married June 20,
1959, at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Dodge City.
Charlene was the loving mother of Debra
Lee and husband Randy, Rockwall, Texas, Kyle Pugh, Kingfisher,
Oklahoma, and Laura Houghton and fiancé, John Norwood, Rockwall. She
was a proud Gram to Jonathan Riedlinger and wife Lynda and Trevor and
Hayden Plain. Charlene is also lovingly remembered by her brother and
sisters, Richard Hege and wife Becky, Mary Zimmer, Delores Sexauer
and husband Fred, Elsie Challans and husband Robert, and Ruth Cole
and husband Chris; brother-in-law, Bill Bemiss of Newton; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
Charlene was preceded in death by her
parents, two brothers, Donald and Kenny Hege and two sisters, Betty
Lee and Linda Bemiss.
A memorial service will be held at
10:00 am Monday, April 20, 2015, at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge
City, with Fr. Wesley Schawe officiating. There will be no public
viewing, cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be in the Kansas
Veterans Cemetery, Ft. Dodge, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests
memorials to the Sacred Heart School Endowment or the Minneola
Nursing Home, both in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th
