Obituary
NEWTON - Jessie Maxine Spoon, 80, died
Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Newton Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 25, 1934, near
Burlington, daughter of Joseph and Mabel Scott Wilson. She grew up in
Coffey County. As an adult, she worked as a seamstress and nurse aid.
She had lived in Newton for several years.
She was preceded in death by husbands,
Ken Martin and Max Spoon.
She is survived by a son, Alfred of
Rock Springs, Wyoming; daughters, Susan Hix of Winona, Minnesota,
Lola Conner and Jane Prine of Newton, Sarah Ferris of Garden City,
Jean Chavez of Omaha, Nebraska; stepchildren, Janet Donely and Robert
Spoon of Oxford and Linda Johnson of Winfield; 12 grandchildren; and
20 great-grandchildren.
The service will be 11 a.m. Monday at
the Eastmoor United Methodist Church at Marion, with burial to follow
at Marion Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with
the Kansas Christian Home of Newton. Visitation will be 1 to 4 p.m.
Sunday at Zeiner Funeral Home of Marion.
