Obituary
Halstead, KS: Kurt E. Huebert, 91, died
Friday, March 6, 2015 at his residence, Halstead, KS.
He was born Sept. 4, 1923 at Halstead,
KS to Otto and Frieda Anna (Wiebe) Huebert.
He attended country schools and
graduated from Halstead High School in 1940.
He loved to fish, hunt, travel, attend
grandchildren's events and spend time with his family.
He had a lifelong passion for baseball
and could always be found watching a New York Yankees game. He was an
active community volunteer, maintaining the ballpark, assisting at
the Neighbors store and serving the church.
He and his wife Leota owned and
operated Kurt's Dari Inn for 18 years. One of his favorite jobs was
driving country roads as a rural mail carrier. He also worked at
Boeing for 20 years.
On June 6, 1953 he married Leota R.
Kiefer at Halstead, KS. She survives of the home.

Kathy (Tim) Pierce, Wichita, KS; Karen (Carl) Hodges, Sedgwick, KS;
Peggy (Jack) Rouse, Wichita, KS; grandchildren: Ryan, Kyle, Matt,
Chris, Katie, Sarah, Dietrich and Ben; great-grandchildren: Kylee,
Blake, Maddox, Jack, Julia, Hudson, and Hailee; cousin: Lois Huebert
and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers:
Richard and James Huebert and sisters: Gertrude Gingrass, Margaret
Brown and Dorothy Ross.
Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 pm with
the family present from 6:30-8:00 pm Monday, March 9, 2015 at Kaufman
Funeral Home, Halstead, KS
Funeral service will be 11:00 am
Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church, Halstead, KS
with Rev. Tony D'Olio officiating.
Burial will follow at Halstead
Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to First
Presbyterian Church or Neighbors in care of Kaufman Funeral Home,
Halstead, KS.
