Harry Eugene Krueger
Obituary
Harry Eugene Krueger, 87, of Halstead,
passed away on March 9, 2015, at Valley View Senior Life Center in
Junction City, KS.
He was born to Marie and Henry Krueger
on February 22, 1928, at Buhler, KS, as the ninth child of ten
children. He attended schools in the Inman, and Moundridge areas and
completed course work at Dela Hale Business College and Dale Carnegie
Institute. On February 28, 1946, he married Verna Lorraine Nichols.
He is survived by one brother, Ralph
Krueger of Wichita, his daughter, Shari (Calvin) Pottberg of Junction
City, daughter-in-law, Cynthia Krueger of Lenexa, KS, and three
grandchildren, Amy (Jay) Graber of Shawnee, KS, Jason (Royal) Krueger
of Lenexa, KS, and Kristen (Nick) Lynch of Overland Park, KS. Other
survivors include his six great-grandchildren, Jenna and Allison
Graber of Shawnee, KS, Delaney, Garrett, and Lucy Krueger of Lenexa,
KS, and Vivian Lynch of Overland Park, KS.
He was preceded in death by his wife,
Verna Krueger and his son, Larry Krueger. Harry worked at the Toews
66 Service, Koss Construction Company, was the production manager for
Legg Company (Rub-R-Slat Draper Company), was admissions director for
Electronic Computer Program Institute, a sales representative for
Marvel Equipment, and following retirement was a part-time bus driver
for USD 440 as well as one of three bus drivers to be invited to be a
driver at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. He also served on the
Halstead City Council.
Harry was a member of the Halstead
United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, and Elks Lodge. He enjoyed
being with his family, bowling, golf, fishing, camping, playing
bridge, and woodworking projects throughout his life.
Funeral services will be held at the
Halstead United Methodist Church on March 23, 2015, at 2:00 P.M. The
family suggests memorial contributions to Halstead United Methodist
Church or Kansas Learning Center for Health.
