Obituary
HALSTEAD - Fred A. Rodenberg, 81,
retired truck driver, died Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Via Christi
St. Francis Medical Center, Wichita.
He was born April 15, 1933, at
Halstead, to Fritz J. and Emma (Thorp) Rodenberg.
He was a graduate of Halstead High
School and served in the U.S. Army.
During his working life he worked for
the Wichita Water Dept., was an OTR truck driver, and was a solid
waste truck driver.
On December 12, 1955, he married
Dorothy Jean Eckel at Mt. Hope. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include sons: Brad
(Joyce), Craig, and Mark (Shirley) Rodenberg, all of Halstead;
daughter: Sharon (Scott) Owens, Kismet; brothers: Edward (Fran)
Rodenberg, San Diego, CA; James (Carolyn) Rodenberg, Lynchburg, VA;
sister, Louise (Gene) Kerr, White Bluff, TN; 8 grandsons and 5
great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a sister,
Edna Rodenberg.
Friends may sign the register from
2:00-8:00 p.m. and a visitation will be from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Tuesday,
March 17, 2015, at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead, with
Revs. Jane Voelkel and Brian Harmon officiating.
There will be a private family
inurnment at Halstead Cemetery, Halstead.
Memorials may be given to Halstead
E.M.S. or First United Methodist Church Halstead, in care of Kaufman
Funeral Home, Halstead.
