Jerald Murer
SEDGWICK -- Jerald Murer, 83, retired farmer and dairyman, died today (Jan. 5, 2001) at Newton Medical Center.
He was born June 17, 1917, to Joseph and Louise (Schuesler) Murer in Bassett, Neb. They preceded him in death. He married Thelma Meyer Aug. 1, 1942, in Watertown, N.Y. She survives.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Newton. He was a past member of the Darlington Township Board, a past member of the Suncrest and Centenial school boards and a former Centenial 4-H Club leader. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Mary Lou Boegler of Irving, Texas; three grandsons, Jerold Boegler of Washington, D. C., Andrew and Candance Boegler of Irving and Justin Boegler, also of Irving; a granddaughter, Kristin Boegler Of Irving; and a great-grandson, Mason Boegler of Irving.
He also was preceded in death by: an infant son, Jerry Paul Murer; three brothers; and four sisters.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Petersen Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ronald Gloe officiating.
Graveside service will be 4 p.m. Monday at Inman Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with the American Heart Association and Zion Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
