James Craig Roberts (Guppy), 58, died March 20, 2015, at Desrest Healthcare Center in Wichita.

James was born April 13, 1956, to Eugene C. Roberts and Dorthy N. Roberts in Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Donna; and his brother, Max.

Survivors are sister, Patty Briar of Newton, and brothers, Jack of Peabody and Mike of Newton.

Jimmie grew up in Newton and attended Newton schools. He graduated from Newton High School in 1974. Jimmie enjoyed sports, and he loved watching softball at Guadalupe Ball Park. Jimmie will be remembered for his orneriness, which continued until his final days. He worked jobs in the Newton and Wichita area, until his illness began four years ago.

His memorial service will be graveside at 11 a.m. Friday, April 3, 2015, at Greenwood Cemetery. Grave site located just east of the office.
