Frank L. Rodriguez
Frank L. Rodriguez, 87, of Newton, died
Friday (Aug. 6, 2010) at Asbury Park in Newton.
He was born on Sept. 23, 1922, in
Newton, the son of Abraham and Maria Monarez Rodriguez. He was a
lifelong resident of Newton.
During World War II, Frank served in
the U. S. Army.
Frank returned to Newton after being
discharged, where he married Edith M. Juarez on Aug. 31, 1946, at the
Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Frank worked in the store department of
the Santa Fe Railroad in Newton for 41 years, retiring in September
1982.
He was a member of Our Lady of
Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Frank had a strong love for baseball
throughout his life and will always be lovingly remembered as Edith's
dance partner. Frank and Edith loved to attend the Mexican dances to
be with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Edith of
the home in Newton; his children, Victoria Tennissen and her husband
Ronald of Olathe, Orlando Rodriguez and his wife Charlene of Newton,
and Sonya Bressie and her husband Mike of Derby; one sister,
Josephine Botello of California; nine grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.
Frank was preceded in death by his
parents; three brothers, Augustine, Angel and Henry; and three
sisters, Guadalupe Garcia, Jessie Limones and Manuela Perez.
Friends may call at the funeral home
from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be
at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in
Newton.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10
a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Interment will be in St. Mary's
Cemetery in Newton.

the building fund of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church,
