Irma Koehn (1913 - 2015)
Obituary
Irma Koehn, 101, passed away on June 7,
2015 at Bethesda Home, Goessel. She was born October 6, 1913 in
Harvey County, Kansas the daughter of John and Katharine (Voth) Voth.
She served in the Voluntary Service in
Markham, Illinois for 3 years. She was a homemaker, had worked in the
dietary department at Bethesda Home for 9 years and was a member of
the Tabor Mennonite Church, rural Newton. One of her hobbies was
gardening. On September 22, 1934 she married Jacob C. Koehn at Tabor
Mennonite Church, rural Newton.
He passed away on May 25, 2006. She was
also preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Nikkel, and a sister,
Wanda Dirks.
She is survived by her children,
Margaret (John) Hiebert of North Newton, John (Jill) Koehn of
Dighton, KS, Linda (Paul) Buller of Wichita, one son-in-law, Kermit
(Sandra) Nikkel of Canton, 2 brothers, Arnold Voth of Goessel, Bill
Voth of Walton, a sister, Elvera Voth of North Newton, 8
grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 9:30
a.m., Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Tabor Cemetery, rural Newton with a
memorial service to follow at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 11, 2015 at
Tabor Mennonite Church, rural Newton. The family will greet friends
from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Bethesda Home Chapel,
Goessel.
Memorials may be sent either Bethesda
Home or Tabor Mennonite Church in care of Miller-Ott Funeral Home,
Goessel.
