Hinshaw, J. Til



    J. Til Hinshaw, age 39,, son of Mr & Mrs. N. L. Hinshaw  died in May 5,.1915 two miles north of Halstead.  He was born in 1876  on the old Hinshaw farm two miles norh of Halstead.  He graduated  He graduated from Halstead High Schooll in 1895.  In 1896 he located on a tract of land in the Halstead colony of Quakers at Friendswood, Texas.  He married Mamie Nieuhausin 1902 and in 1910 he returned to Halstead as a buider and carpenter, his biggest contract work being the Newton Fire Stattion and the Moundridge School House.  He returned to

texas in 1913 as a foreman of a lare outfit.  His family was to join him there as soon as the local school closed. Cause of death was a carbuncle on the back of his neck.  He entered the hospital a weekk prior to his death,, but all the medical skill available would not combaat the ravages of the poisonous boil.

   Two years ago, thouaghtful of his wife and family he took out a $3,000 dollar life insurance policy which will aterially assist in raisisng the six small children who are left without a father.

  Funeral services were held in Halstead at the Presbyterian Church with a 32nd degree Masonic Service.

   Survivors: wife, six childdren; brothers Clyde and Orris.

   Funeral procession as it passed through Main Street as composed entirely of automobiles.

   Burial was in Halstead cemetery a few hundred yards from whereh he was born and spent his childhood.
