Matthew Heddin (1977 - 2015)
Obituary
January 17, 1977 - May 26, 2015
Our charming and wonderful husband,
father, son and brother died Tuesday (May 26, 2015) in Olympia,
Washington. Matt was born January 17, 1977, the youngest son of Linda
and Jeffrey Heddin. He was raised in Newton, graduated from Newton
High School in 1995 and went on to graduate from Kansas State
University in 2000 with a degree in biology.
Matt loved adventure and the ocean so
naturally he migrated to the west coast after spending two years in
the Peace Corps. He put his degree and training to good use and
joined the Grette Associates Environmental Consultants' Tacoma,
Washington team as a biologist and professional wetland specialist in
2008. He was lucky enough to meet the love of his life Jenny in 2013.
They wed in 2014 and welcomed their son Henry into the world
together. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, camping and scuba
diving.
We miss his radiant smile, infectious
laugh and sense of adventure. His love lives on in the hearts of all
that knew him. We thank God that he was in our lives and we pray he
rests peacefully in the Lord's arms.
Matt joins his mother Linda and sister
Paula in Heaven and is survived by his beautiful wife Jenny, his sons
Matthew and Henry, his father Jeffrey (Janice) Heddin, his brothers
Daniel (Charla) Heddin and Jonathan (Frances) Heddin, and his sister
Susan (Matt) Hastings as well as his 13 nieces and nephews and a
multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, great friends and coworkers.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has
been established for his family's immediate needs and future
expenses. Please visit gofundme.com/wfvb6w.
A graveside memorial service will be
held at 10 a.m. Monday (June 29, 2015) at Hesston City Cemetery in
Hesston with a reception to follow at Heritage Park.
