Obituary
LaVerne (Merritt – Kitterman)
Mosiman, 90, passed away June 10, 2015, at Newton Medical Center,
Newton, Kansas. She was born March 12, 1925, at Ava, Missouri; the
daughter of Jesse and Grace (Hylton) Merritt.
On May 15, 1942, she married Merrill S.
Kitterman, he was killed serving our country June 6, 1943. To this
union was born a son, Merrill Samuel, Jr. On June 29, 1946, LaVerne
was married to Irvin C. Mosiman. LaVerne worked at Beech Aircraft for
a short while, and worked at The Bank of Whitewater for 43 years,
retiring in 1987.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; husbands, Merrill and Irvin; son, Sam; grandson, Sam;
granddaughter, Ginger; and brother, Herman.
She is lovingly survived by her son,
Roger of Halstead; her daughter, Joann and her husband Calvin
Klaassen of Whitewater; a daughter-in-law Mary Jo Kitterman of
Wichita; her grandchildren: Steve Kitterman and his wife Brenda of
Whitewater; Angela (Kitterman) and her husband Steve Carter of
Wichita; Robyn Kitterman of Newton; Gail (Kitterman) and her husband
James Frey of Wichita; Jeff Klaassen and his wife Jeni of Whitewater;
Kiley (Klaassen) and her husband Jason Barnes of Benton; and Chad
Klaassen and his wife Heather; her great-grandchildren: Cari
(Kitterman) and her husband Joel Williamson; Jamie Kitterman; Bryan
Carter had his wife Georgie; Shelby (Carter) and her husband Jason
Ramsey; Jacob Coats; Jaclyn (Coats) and her husband Andy Nellans;
Andrew Fayette; Tanner Frey; Colby Frey; Ava Klaassen, Britany
Klaassen; Karys Klaassen; Colton Barnes; Brooklyn Barnes; and Ashlyn
Barnes; her great-great-grandchildren: Brylee Williamson; Braelyn
Williamson; Easton Carter; Korbyn Carter; Landon Ramsey, Courtlyn
Ramsey; Lincoln Ramsey; and Silas Nellans; a brother-in-law Joe Lee
of Wichita; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
The visitation was held on Sunday
evening at Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater. Funeral Service where held
at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2015; at the Federated Church,
Whitewater. A memorial fund has been established for the Federated
Church in care of Lamb Funeral Home, 120 S. Main, Whitewater, KS
67154.
