Obituary

   Thomas D. Corkill was born on the Isle of Man in the Englishh Chaannel in 1839. He came to America at the age of 18 months with his parents and they went to Illinois.  He enlisted in the Civil War 15th Reg. Ill. Volunteeers and served for 2 1/2 years.  He was wounded  at Shiloh which hindered his further service in the war.  .

   He married Marcha A. Haskin at Chicaago in  1868 , then came to Segwick in 1877.

   Survivors: wife, children; James, Charles and Thomas, Mrs. Stamm, Mrs. Elmer Bender and Mrs. Thomas Van Biber; 1 brother, 2 half bothers, 2 half sisters, andd 11 grandchildren.  Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick, Kanas.
