Frances G. Price
1927 - 2015 | Obituary
Frances G. Price 87, went to be with
the Lord on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Newton Medical Center. Her life
journey began in Mt. Pleasant, Texas on November 14, 1927. In 1956
she married the love of her life Gene Price after dating only 11
days. Their journey together ended after more than 57 years when Gene
died on March 28, 2014. Gene and Frances adopted two children David
Price who died in 1991 and Debbie Jackson who died in 2007.
Frances shared a lifetime ministry with
Gene proclaiming the love and salvation of Jesus Christ with her
husband Gene. Through the years they knitted together a ministry of
music and broadcasting. They were involved in many churches in the in
the Newton and Wichita area including a long membership in the Newton
Bible Church and First Baptist Church both in Newton. Most recently
she was involved in leading a ministry in Moundridge that was meeting
in the homes of the members.
Part of Gene and Frances' ministry was
playing piano and providing vocal talent for funeral services in
Newton. They also spent much of their lives working with
underprivileged children and drug addicts through their association
with Roloff Evagelistic ministries. For a number of years Frances
worked right alongside Gene as director of the Union Rescue Mission
and Haven of Hope in Wichita. In Frances quiet time she enjoyed
flowers and working in her garden and crocheting afgans and blankets
for her friends and family. She especially enjoyed spending time with
her grandchildren.
Frances is survived by her son in law
Doug Jackson and his wife and 5. She is also survived by many close
friends from her Hillside Road neighborhood including Archie Conduff
and his wife, Dr Darold Boley and other close neighbors and friends
she has made across the country and around the world.
She is preceded in death by her
parents, husband Gene, two children David and Debbie and one sister.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m.,
Monday, June 8, 2015 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton with
Pastor John Downs of Roloff Ministries presiding. Visitation will be
1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Petersen Funeral Home. Burial will be in
the Greenwood Cemetery Newton.
