Dolores Luna, 81, died on Wednesday,
July 01, 2015 at Asbury Park Healthcare Center in Newton.
Dolores was born on March 24, 1934 to
Jose Castro and Socorro Mendoza in Wichita, Kansas.
Dolores married Longino Luna on
September 23, 1950 in Newton, Kansas. He passed away in 1994.
Dolores was a homemaker throughout her
life. She lovingly cared for her children and grandchildren and
always seemed to be in the kitchen preparing food for the family. She
liked bingo, soap operas, "The Price Is Right" and loved
Elvis Presley. She was known for her "famous banana cookies".
Dolores is survived by her children:
Luis and spouse, Shirley Luna, Ricardo and spouse, Rita Luna, Frank
Luna, Monica and spouse, Roy Seldern, Regina and spouse, Joe
Dietrich, Michael and spouse, Blanca Luna, three sisters: Cora
Magdaleno, Stella Cordova, and Betty Martinez; twelve grandchildren
and fifteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her
parents: Jose and Socorro Castro; husband: Longino Luna; brothers:
Fred Castro and Jose Castro, Jr.; and sisters: Julia Santiago, Mary
Navarro; and great grandchild: Brayden Luna.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday,
July 7, 2015 at 10:00 A.M.. Visitation will be held at 5:00 to 6:30
P.M. on Monday, July 6th with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary
beginning at 6:30 P.M. All events will be held at the Our Lady of
Guadalupe Church in Newton, Kansas. Burial will follow the service at
Hillside Cemetery in Sedgwick, Kansas.
A memorial has been established with
the Alzheimer's Association , 1820 E. Douglas Ave., Wichita, Kansas
