Frank Zurbuchen
NEWTON - Frank Zurbuchen, 96, died Dec. 21, 2003, at Newton Medical Center, Newton.
He was born July 4, 1907, at Alta Vista, the son of Ernest and Suzette Mueller Zurbuchen. A resident of Newton since 2000, formerly a longtime Halstead resident, he was a farmer and a former Harvey County appraiser.
He belonged to First United Methodist Church, Halstead.
On April 12, 1939, he married Ethel Huffman at Halstead. She died Oct. 27, 1975.
Survivors include: two daughters, Diana Lee, Hutchinson, and Suzette Kugler, Baldwin; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Sam and Ed; and four sisters, Katie Hearting, Elizabeth Hunsinger, Minnie Weddle and Lena Boucher.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, Halstead, with the Rev. Nancy Lambing presiding. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
