Fuller, Lydia M

PELLA, Iowa — Lydia M. Fuller, 96, passed away on Sunday (July 25, 2010) at the Regional Health Care Center in Pella, Iowa. Lydia was born on Sept. 20, 1913, on her parents' farm in rural Elbing, to Samuel and Anna (Dyck) Fiedler. Lydia's parents were born in Germany and settled on the farm in rural Elbing where Lydia grew up. She loved to help her dad with the farm work. Lydia's best friend on the farm was her dog, Pal. She later moved to Newton with her parents, and after graduating from Newton High School, she attended Fort Wayne Bible Institute in Indiana for a few years. On Sept. 5, 1947, she married Earl Fuller at her parents' home in Newton. Lydia was a homemaker and loving wife and mother. She is survived by her sons, David Fuller and wife Jeanie of Hesston, and Earl Fuller Jr. and wife Selena of Russellville, Mo.; daughters, Ann Parker of Carl Junction, Mo., and Lovella Miller and husband Marvin of New Sharon, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and 14 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Faith Evangeline; a granddaughter, Katie Parker; her husband; parents; brothers, Richard, Ernest, Bill, Max, and Emil; her sisters, Sarah Fiedler and Martha Fiedler; and her son-in-law, Bob Parker.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, with family present to greet friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Missionary Church in Newton, with the Rev. Dr. Dan Quinlin officiating. Burial will be at First Missionary Cemetery in rural Elbing. Memorial donations may be made to First Missionary Church in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
