LaVera L. "Blondie" Vaughn,
86, died Saturday, August 8, 2015 at The Homestead, Halstead, KS.
She was born April 7, 1929 at Halstead,
KS, the daughter of John Carl and Martha (Schmidt) Pjesky.
She was a lifelong Halstead resident
and was Halstead Elementary School Secretary for over 30 years.
She was a member of First United
Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, PEO Chapter JH, Halstead
Historical Society and Halstead Hospital Auxiliary.
On November 1, 1947, she married James
Charter "J.C." Vaughn at Halstead, KS. He preceded her in
death May 1, 2000.
Survivors include sons: Steve (Rose)
Vaughn, Halstead, KS, Stan (Audrey) Vaughn, Salina, KS; brother: John
(Joan) Pjesky, Halstead, KS; grandchildren: Carrie (James) Grow,
Halstead, KS; Tina (Michael) Robinson, Frisco, TX; Whitney Vaughn,
Houston, TX; Mark Vaughn, Salina, KS; great-granddaughters: Sierra
Grow, Paige Grow, Brooke Grow, and Abby Robinson.
Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m.,
Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead, KS. The
family will receive guests from 6:30-8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be10:30 a.m.
Thursday, August 13, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, Halstead,
KS with Rev. Jane Voelkel officiating.
Burial will follow at Halstead
Cemetery, Halstead, KS.
Memorials may be given to First United
Methodist Church or the Kansas Learning Center for Health in care of
Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead, KS.
