William N. Pearce, 71, Burrton, died Tuesday at South Hospital after a short illness.
Born March 24, 1902, at Belpre, he married Hazel Kelley, April 6, 1922, at Hutchinson.
He retired as a colonel in the U.S. Army in 1962. He was a co-owner of Pearce Lumber Company, retiring in 1965.
He was a member of the First Methodist Church, Kiwanis, Retired Officers, and the American Legion. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include the widow; daughters, Mrs. Robert Wernet, Burrton, Mrs. Robert Thoben, Houston, Texas; brother, Frank M. Pearce, 226 East 5th; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Elliott Chapel; Rev. Dean Gleason. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery.
