1922 - 2015 | Obituary

Clarence O. Webb, 93, died Friday, September 4, 2015 at Kansas Christian Home in Newton. He was born July 19, 1922 in Faye, Oklahoma to Samuel and Della (Minor) Webb. He was married to Betty L. Webb and she preceded him death on February 14, 2012. Clarence was a longtime active and faithful member of the Second Baptist Church in Newton. He served his country in the US Army during WWII. Clarence was known as a "Jack of All Trades". He retired as a machinist for the Santa Fe Railroad, ran a radio and TV repair shop and worked as a landscaper and lawn maintenance man for many years in Newton and the surrounding area. Clarence had a love for farming and enjoyed working on the family farm East of Walton. He was out going and enjoyed being around people, especially volunteering at the Newton Senior Center. His family was the center of his life and he greatly enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and many friends. Clarence has a personal motto he often shared with the people in his life, "I'm Blessed".

He is survived by his children Brenda Papin of Wichita, KS, Glen Webb of Ottawa, KS, Stanley Webb of Newton, KS, Connie Reaves of Newton, KS; Brothers Armin Webb of Cedar Rapids, IA and Arnold Webb of San Mateo, CA; Sisters Nettie Lee and Corrine Webb both of Fresno, CA; 8 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and other family and friends whom he cherished.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Chris Webb and 6 brothers and 2 sisters

Graveside committal service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Greenwood Cemetery Newton, Kansas with Pastor Floyd Edwards presiding. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to Second Baptist Church in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
