Arnold Stark, 62, of Wellington, Kansas, died Sunday, March 1, 2009 under the care of his wife and Hospice Care of Kansas in Wellington, Kansas. 

Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 4th at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield with Reverend Don Cross officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Hawks-Shelley Funeral Home & Crematory in Wellington with the family greeting friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. A memorial has bee established with the Church of the Nazarene in Wellington. Contributions can be left with the funeral home. 

Arnold was born in Newton, Kansas on July 4, 1946 the son of Gustave Daniel and Ella Caroline Reiss Stark. He was a 1964 graduate of Newton High School. Arnold served many years in the military. He served his country proudly in the Army, Navy and Air Force. He later worked as a custodian and security guard. Arnold was united in marriage with Nancy Phillips on August 14, 1995. Arnold enjoyed bowling and occasionally golf with his wife. He was a life long member of the Nazarene Church. He loved church functions especially church dinners. 

Surviving are his wife Nancy Stark of Wellington brother Lewis Stark and wife Judy of Newton, sisters Ruth Ann Goecks and husband Dennis of McMinnville, OR, Laura Long and husband Jack of Kansas City, KS and Norma Jean Gooch and husband John of Wellington, special niece Veronica “Ronnie” Dover of Douglass and special friend Glenn Unruh of Wichita as well as a host of nieces and nephews. 

Preceding Arnold in death are his parents.
