Obituary
Karolyn Louise (Rossiter) Ford, was
born February 2, 1936, in Newton, Kansas, to Patrick and Edythe
Rossiter.
She grew up in Newton, Kansas and
attended High School there until she decided to get here GED. Karolyn
studied home interior design, and woodworking. She attended All
Nations and Riverpoint church. She loved cooking and, everyone loved
her old school recipe of Swiss steak, she loved spending time with
her family, going to garage sales, shopping at the thrift store and
watching the news daily. She enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers
football team play, they were her favorite team. Karolyn lived at the
Newton, Midtown Towers for seven years, and volunteered with numerous
activities with being in charge of the money, for special events that
were held on occasional for funding raising purposes, and she also
enjoyed going to bingo there, unfortunately her health begin to fail.
She was a very active and independent woman. She had a heart of gold
and never met a stranger.
She is preceded in death by her parents
Patrick and Edythe Rossiter, and three daughters, Linda Jackson,
Annette Jones and Jorene Jones, two sisters, Sylvia Walker, Shirley
Marshall and, Brother Floyd Wright.
She is survived by four children,
William H. Jones III, Newton, Kansas Michelle Dozier, Winfield,
Kansas Jacqueline DuBose and Girard Jones of Newton, Kansas and two
sisters: Helen McClellan of Newton, Kansas, and Gloria Lawson of
Oakland, California. Two sister-in laws Teola, Smith and Jerry
Rowland, of Oklahoma, City.
Nieces: Pam Small and husband (Charles)
of Valley Center, Ks, Jehnine Edwards, of Newton, Kansas, and Yvonne
Pete and husband Paul of Wichita, Kansas, Robin Simmons and husband
(Sammie), Kasandra Jones and husband Robert of Oklahoma, City and
Host of Nieces and Nephew.
Nephews: Mike Roberson of Newton,
Kansas and Chris McClellan and wife (Tye) of Hampton, Georgia, Dennis
Walker Jr and wife (Debra) of Carrollton, Texas, Vincent Walker and
wife (Lori) of Sacramento, CA., Scott Walker of Newton, Kansas.
Julian Giles of Newton, Ks, Kevin Giles of Newton, Ks, Darren Giles
of Newton
Karolyn also leaves to cherish her
life, her nine grandchildren, Marcus Dozier Jr, (Ranae Dozier), Gary
DuBose Jr, Newton, Ks, Williams Jones IV, of Oklahoma, City, Eva
DuBose (Rodrick Hunter) of Wichita, Ks, Mia Busher (Brandon Sr). of
Wichita, Ks, MyNisha Gregory of Winfield, Ks, Christina Butler,
Tiffany Jones, Irene Jones all of Oakland, Ca. She also leaves her
great grandchildren to cherish her memories. Anthony Dozier, Makayla
Dozier, Kylea DuBose, Deantrie Dozier, Raishawn Dozier, Janae Ray
Dozier, Shariah Stewart, Brandon Busher Jr. Brandi Busher, Amayah
DuBose, Michael Torres, Jaida Rai Degenstein, Jakhelan Hunter, Jamika
Hunter, Jaleisa Hunter, Rodrick Hunter II., Quiare Hunter, Jearon
Hunter, Amir Hunter, Xarius Hunter,
Cousins Tersea Foster, Valarie Thaw, of
Newton, Ks, Heidi Thaw of Wichita, Ks. And a host of other family
members and friends.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m.
Friday, November 6, 2015 at Petersen Funeral Home with Pastor Larry
Lee presiding. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday evening
at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:30
to 8:00. Private burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery Newton.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association in care of
Petersen Funeral Home.
II Timothy 4: 6-7. For I am now ready
to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought
a good fight, I have finished my course and I have kept the faith.
