Fern L. Nelms
1935 - 2015
Fern L. Nelms, 80, died Saturday,
October 24, 2015 at her Hesston residence. She was born August 25,
1935 in Moundridge, Kansas to Peter C. and Elma E. Stucky Schroeder.
On December 24, 1953 she married Carl Nelms and he preceded her in
death on August 13, 2005. Fern was a resident of the Schowalter Villa
Independent Living Campus. She looked forward to spending time with
her loving family and friends.
She is survived by her sister Wilma E.
Siebuhr of Newton, Kansas; brothers Everett and Vicky Schroeder of
Walton, Kansas and Vern and Jan Schroeder of North Newton, Kansas;
and three special sisters in law, Tonya Ann Murphy, Jessie Lou Crimm,
and Amber Gay Drake. She is also survived by several nieces and
nephews.
Fern is preceded in death by her
parents, husband, brother's Jerry, Eugene, Ellis and Myron Schroeder
and sister Mary L. McCreary.
Graveside committal service will be 12
noon Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Hesston City Cemetery with
Chaplain Nadine Friesen presiding. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9
p.m. Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving
friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
