Newton, KS: Dorothy M. Talbert, 100,
died Monday, December 7, 2015 at Diversicare of Sedgwick, KS.
She was born June 18, 1915 at rural
Halstead, KS to Charles C. and Estella Dell (Steele) Hoffman.
She was a retired bookkeeper for
Berry's Petroleum and Producers.
She was a member of the First Christian
Church and V.F.W. Auxiliary both of Newton, KS
On April 1, 1934 she married Tillman M.
Rodgers.
She later married Jack E. Talbert on
November 14, 1965 at Las Vegas, NV. He preceded her in death October
29, 1974.
She is survived by sons: Gardy Rodgers,
Los Angeles, CA; Dennis Rodgers, Newton, KS; daughters: Leva
Bickford, Newton, KS; Sue Stewart, Wichita, KS; Karen Nikkel, Lehigh,
KS; brother: Duane Hoffman, Winfield, KS four grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by grandsons:
Vincent Nikkel and Gordon Stewart; brothers: Gilbert and William
Hoffman; half-brother Milburn Fleetwood; half-sister: Genevieve
McCann.
Friends may call from 2:00 – 8:00
p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead,
KS with the family present from 6:30-8:00 p.m..
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m.
Friday, December 11, 2015 also at Kaufman Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Halstead
Cemetery, Halstead, KS.
Memorials may be given to The Kansas
School for the Deaf or First Christian Church in care of Kaufman
Funeral Home.
