Orville Leslie Robinson, 94, Newton, formerly of Harveyville, passed away Saturday (Jan. 16, 2010) at Asbury Park Retirement Center in Newton.
He was born on Sept. 5, 1915, near Auburn, the son of LeRoy A. and Mina M. Moran Robinson.
Orville farmed for many years in the Dover, Auburn and Harveyville communities, and worked at the US Supply Depot in Topeka and Brown's Service Station in Harveyville. He retired in 1980 from KNI in Topeka.
He was a member and past master of the former Harveyville Lodge No. 421, a past deputy of District No. 34, and a current member of Corinthian Lodge, No. 79, A.F.&A.M. in Burlingame.
Orville is survived by his wife of 71 years, Jessie W. Robinson, of the home; a daughter, Mina M. Coulter (Bob) of Newton; a son, Larry W. Robinson of Coinjock, N.C.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sons Paul L. Robinson and Richard Dean Robinson.
The funeral service was at 11 a.m. today at Harveyville United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Harveyville Cemetery.
