Robert Walker, 69, died on July 14th at
Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas.
Robert was born on July 28, 1945 to
Ralph and Leona (Wooten) Walker in McPherson, Kansas.
Robert was a Vietnam Veteran who served
four tours of duty. He was impacted by his time of service and he
dealt with the emotional scars of Vietnam throughout his whole life.
Robert never met a stranger, he would
talk with anyone and cared about helping others and their needs more
than his own. He was the former President of the Newton Saddle Club.
He loved his grandchildren and was preceded in death by his best
friend "Butch".
He is survived by his wife: Marie
Walker; daughter: Alicia and James Ditty; Step-children: Melissa and
Mike Ballinger and Tyler and Krystal Leiby; niece, Deborah Walker;
five grandchildren; four great nieces and nephews; and nine great
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his
parents: Ralph and Leona Walker; and brother: Don Walker.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00
p.m., Monday, July 20th at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation
is scheduled for Sunday, July 19th, 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., with the
family present from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. to greet friends. A committal
will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery.
