J.C. Trouslot
SEDGWICK-J.C. Trouslot, 85, died
Wednesday (Jan. 3, 2007) at his residence in Sedgwick. He was born
Sept. 7, 1921, to Julius Charles and Elizabeth Capatola Tingstrom
Trouslot in Newton. He married Gladys Ruth Angle on Nov. 21, 1962, in
Knoxville, Tenn. She survives of the home. He worked as an aircraft
electronic tooling and planner at Boeing and Cessna aircraft
companies for 26 years. He retired from the aircraft industry in
1981.He was a member of VFW Post No. 971 and the American Legion of
Newton.He served in the U.S. Navy
during World War II. He enlisted in 1940 and was discharged in 1946.
He served in the Asiatic/Pacific area and served in numerous
campaigns. He was awarded a Purple Heart Medal. He was a longtime
resident of Newton and Sedgwick. He served in the Civilian
Conservation Corps from 1938 to 1940, when he was honorably
discharged to enter the military. Other survivors include sister,
Elizabeth Hill of Furley; niece, Kathleen O'Loughlin of Hurst;
nephew, Dennis Harrington of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; nephew, Robert
Harrington of Stillwater, Okla.; niece, Janice Maixner of Colorado
Springs, Colo.; nephew, Donald Maixner of Pharr, Texas; nephew,
Dennis Hill of Benton; nephew Ronnie Hill of Whitewater; nephew, Jack
Johnson of Fort Scott; and sister-in-law Dorotha Trouslot of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, jack and
Rutherford and Burkhart Trouslet; sisters, Winifred Maixner and Jean
Harrington; and half-brother William Rutherford. Funeral service will
be at 2 pm Monday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton with Chaplain
Bill Eichelberger officiating.Visitation will be from 1 to 9 pm
Sunday at the funeral home. Family will greet friends from 6 to 7:30
pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer
Society, Hospice Care of Kansas or the American Diabetes Association
in care of the funeral home.
