Dorothy Stauffer
Dorothy Stauffer, 73, died Friday (Jan.
5, 2007) at her residence in Newton. She was born on Nov. 6, 1933, to
Herbert O. and Selma (Schmidt) Regier in Hesston. Dorothy Regier
married Norman Stauffer on May 29, 1955 in rural Goessel. He survives
of the home. She was an active member of Salem United Methodist
Church where she was active with Red Bird Circle, U.M.W. and served
as youth group leader. She participated in many community
Thanksgiving dinners through the church. Norman
and Dorothy participated in many
mission trips over the years. She was employed by the Harvey County
at the courthouse and highway department for many years. She had been
active in 4H and was a leader for many years. She enjoyed gardening
and flowers. In recent years, she started a strawberry patch, which
the family enjoyed. She was a wonderful grandmother and
great-grandmother who loved her family dearly.
Other survivors include: son, Tim and
Linda Stauffer of Wichita; son, Jeff and Karla Stauffer of Newton;
daughter, Julie and Corey Janzen of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren;
and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; and brothers, Wesley and Roy Regier.
Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at
Salem United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sherry Clemons
officiating.
Burial will be at Restlawn Gardens of
Memory in Newton.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m.
Monday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. Family will greet friends
from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to
Salem United Methodist Church, Gideon's Bible or Parkinson's
Association in care of the funeral home.
