Frankie E. Lehr
Frankie E. Lehr, 79, died Sunday (Jan.
14, 2007) at Newton Medical Center in Newton. He married Mary Lou
(Adamik) Baxter in October 1970. She died on May 19, 1999. He worked
for Caterpillar in Joliet, Ill., for 30 years as an assemblyman. He
retired on Sept. 1, 1987. He was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include niece, Sue and Jerry Chelgren of Derby; niece, Judy
and Ron Taylor of Morrison, Colo.; niece, Beth Ann and Gary Wonder of
Newton; nephew, Tom and and Mary Collier of Newton; nephew, Charles
and Linda Lehr of West Covina, Calif.; 13 nieces and nephews; and
friend Dennis Rodgers of Newton.
He also was preceded in death by his
father, C.L. "Fat" Lehr; mother, Julie (Bowling) Lehr;
brother, Charles L. Lehr; brother, Edward Lehr; sister, Marilyn
Collier; sister, Meredith "Peg" Arnold; and daughter, Pug
(Lehr) Wooten.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at
Broadway Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Newton, with Dr. J. Tal
Tittsworth officiating.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9
p.m. Thursday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in
Newton.
Memorial funds have been established
with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and the Wichita Area Deaf-Senior
Center (WAD), in care of the funeral home.
