Alvina C. Meyer
HALSTEAD - Alvina C. Meyer, 84, died
Saturday (Jan. 13, 2007) at Halstead Health and Rehab in Halstead.
She was born on March 11, 1922, in Swanville, Minn., to John O. and
Alice C. (Cristensen) Johnson. She married William N. Meyer. He
preceded her in death on June 24, 1989. She was a member of The
Church of God of the First Born for more than 60 years. She had lived
in the Halstead Health and Rehab Center for the last several years.
Alvina was a homemaker and also was a member and minister at the
Church of God of the First Born in Wichita.
She and her husband traveled through
several states holding revivals until 1956. She had a great love of
music she shared with her beloved church and family. She especially
enjoyed gospel music.
She played the piano as God had called
and had a very special talent to sing and play. She played the banjo,
mandolin, old-time steel guitar and the accordian.
She enjoyed puzzles, word find, reading
and, especially, her family. She always prayed all of her children
would be saved, live peacefully with one another and serve God. She
went through many difficult times, but she enjoyed serving God and
singing and playing the piano.
She will be greatly missed.
