Elizabeth A. 'Betty' Tieszen
Elizabeth A. "Betty" Tieszen,
79, died Sunday (Nov. 6, 2005) at her residence in Newton. She was
born May 7, 1926, to Robertson J. and Elizabeth (Walker) Rush in
Brooklyn. They preceded her in death. She married Edward W. Entz July
16, 1950, in Newton. He preceded her in death Jan. 10, 1973. She
married Charles E. Tieszen June 15, 1979, in Newton. He survives of
the home. Elizabeth attended St. Luke Presbyterian Church in Newton.
She retired from Hertzler Clinic in Halstead. Elizabeth also worked
at Dillon's video department, Goodwill and Country Fresh Foods. She
made many close and lasting friends at her work. Elizabeth also
enjoyed sewing and looked forward to camping with her husband. She
was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who greatly
enjoyed spending time with her family.
Other survivors include: sons, Robert
J. Entz and Mike and Susie Entz, all of Newton; a daughter, Eileen
and Darrell Voth of Newton; stepsons, Bob and Patti Tieszen of
Sanger, Texas, and James and Martha Tieszen and Dwayne and Cheryl
Tieszen, all of Denton, Texas; brothers, Robertson J. Rush Jr. of
Richmond, Va., and Bill Rush of Las Vegas; a sister, Gerry Mone of
Las Vegas; granddaughters, Amy B. Entz of Overland Park and Amanda J.
Voth of Topeka; and eight step-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by
brothers, Frank Rush and Harry Rush.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m.
Tuesday with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Petersen
Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m.
Wednesday at St. Luke Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Paul Wissink
and Pastor Mike Hiebert officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with
Hospice Care of Kansas and the American Diabetes Association, both in
care of the funeral home.
