Robert Regier
Robert Regier, 86, died Wednesday (Nov.
9, 2005) at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation in Halstead. He was
born Feb. 22, 1919, to Bernard P. and Elizabeth (Penner) Regier in
Newton. They preceded him in death. He married Hilda Buller Sept. 6,
1944, in Elbing. She survives of Newton. He was a member of Koerner
Heights Church of the Mennonite Brethren in Newton. Robert and Hilda
farmed in the Elbing community for 55 years. He retired in 1997. He
held previous memberships with Zion Mennonite Church in Elbing.
During his lifetime, he also organized the jail ministry of El Dorado
and supported numerous missionaries.
Other survivors include: sons and
daughters-in-law, Calvin and Linda Regier of Colorado City, Colo.,
Steven and Jeanne Regier of Plano, Texas, Gordon and Cynthia Regier
of Newton, Rodney and Kara Regier of Elbing and Randy and Tammy
Regier of Newton; daughters and sons-in-law, Dalice (Regier) and Al
Heiser of Salt Lake City, Linda and Howard Swartz of Andover and
Marcene (Regier) and Rick Anderson of Lebanon, Mo.; a brother, Walter
Regier of Halstead; 20 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by:
sisters, Linda Regier, Martha Quenzer, Marie Klingenberg, Olga
Quenzer and Edith Wedel; a son, Warren Dale Regier; and three infant
grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m.
today with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Broadway
Colonial Funeral Home.
Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Zion
Mennonite Church Cemetery in Elbing.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m.
Saturday at Koerner Heights Church of the Mennonite Brethren with the
Revs. Mark Isaac and Al Heiser officiating.
