Ella E. Franz
HESSTON - Ella E. Franz, 95, music
teacher, died Sunday (Nov. 13, 2005) at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.
She was born Feb. 17, 1910, to the Rev. John Janzen and Elizabeth
(Ediger) Franz in Buhler. She was a professor of music at Tabor
College many years ago and in some public schools. She was a former
church secretary in Wichita. She worked in various libraries and
worked in for the Mennonite Central Committee in Mexico for a short
while. Survivors include: nephews, the Rev. Calvin Kroeker and wife
Deanna of Wayne, Neb., David Franz and wife Loretta of Birmingham,
Ala., and John Steven Franz and wife Kyra; a niece, Karen Kroeker of
Fairfax, Va.; sisters, Esther Franz of Hesston and Margaret Kroeker
and husband Karl of Hesston; five grandnieces; and three
grandnephews.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m.
Thursday at Miller Funeral Home in Hesston.
Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at
Buhler City Cemetery in Buhler.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday
at Schowalter Villa Chapel in Hesston with Pastors Howard Berglund
and Cheryl Hershberger and Chaplain Beverly Baumgartner officiating.
Memorials have been established with
the music department of First Baptist Church of McPherson and
Schowalter Villa, both in care of the funeral home, 107 S. Lancaster
Ave., Hesston, KS 67062.
