Lee Piña
Lee Piña, 79, died Friday (Nov. 18,
2005) at Newton Medical Center. He was born July 20, 1926, to Rosario
and Nichi Morrisi in Newton. They preceded him in death. He married
Julia Gomez Sept. 11, 1947, in Newton. Lee was a member of the Madero
Society. He held membership at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church
in Newton. He served in the National Guard for 29 years with time
spent in World War II and Vietnam. He also worked for the Santa Fe
Railroad for over 30 years before he
retired.
Survivors include: a son, Thomas Piña
of Amarillo, Texas; daughters, Theresa (Piña) Estrada and Rosalee
(Piña) Lindsay, both of Newton; eight grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by: a
grandmother, Rosario Piña; a grandson, Jarrod Michael Piña; and a
brother, Arthur Piña.
Funeral service was held earlier today
at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Floyd McKinney
officiating.
There will be a private family burial.
