Obituary
Lacita Ann Davis, 55, went to be with
her Lord and Savior on Monday (March 7, 2016).
Lacita was born on Feb. 5, 1961, in
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
She attended Newton schools,
participated in track and was the first black Usherette at Newton
High School. After high school, she graduated from Cosmetologist
School and became a hair stylist and teacher in New York and Chicago.
While in Chicago, she became ill and moved back to Newton for care
and support.
She is survived by her parents: Lorton
Hayes and Inez (Woody) Rowland; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial services are scheduled for 11
a.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in
Newton. The family will greet friends before and after the service.
There will not be an inurnment.
Lacita struggled with health issues
until the time of her passing. She will be greatly missed by her
family and friends and they will treasure the many enduring memories.
Her life touched many people and she will be remembered for her zeal
for life, strong spirit and love for friends and family.
